About the role
Your role as the Specialist Reliability Engineer – Electrical will be to provide technical support to the Maintenance team by applying Reliability Centred Maintenance principles in driving defect elimination, improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to support safe and reliable operations. Establishing and maintaining relationships with the maintenance, production, planning and engineering teams will be critical to ensure success in this role.
This position is based at BMA Hay Point Terminal and is offered as a 5/2 Roster - this role is open to Mackay residential applicants only as this site does not provide for FIFO or camp.
Key accountabilities include:
- Develop and optimise maintenance strategies that enable plant safety, reliability and performance to be maximised;
- Increase the capability of the maintenance execution team to drive safety, reliability, efficiency, quality of work
- Analyse life of equipment to determine equipment capability and optimisation of maintenance activities;
- Closely monitor equipment performance in relation to cost, performance and reliability and complete targeted root cause analysis (RCA). Develop and implement subsequent improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness;
- Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team in regard to defect elimination and root cause analysis;
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Extensive experience in applying reliability principles in port, mining, minerals processing or similar heavy industry environment
- A trade background degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management or an extensive related experience will be advantageous
- Ability to influence, engage and communicate with stakeholders effectively across all levels of the business
- Demonstrated ability to lead and problem solve – make plans, take initiative to identify improvements and implement effectively
