This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

An exciting opportunity exists to jump start your career in Speech Pathology or consolidate a range of skills for the more experienced clinician. What you'll be doing

  • To provide quality Speech Pathology assessment and treatment to patients of the Far West Local Health District
  • Gain sought-after hospital experience working in the Broken Hill Hospital, the largest hospital in the FWLHD

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of evidence based practice and critical thinking in relation to the provision of person/community centred speech pathology services to a wide variety of clinical cases.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Ability to plan, advocate for and coordinate client care independently and operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the application of primary health care practice, principles and the interface between acute, sub-acute and community based adult/ paediatric service provision.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to use software applications associated with patient care and administrative tasks.
  • Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use within NSW/Australia
