We are looking for a reliable, patient, and proactive Support Worker to work with a teenage boy diagnosed with autism. He lives at home with his single mother, and the family is of Nepali ethnicity. The right candidate will be someone compassionate, culturally sensitive, and confident in supporting the young person in all areas of daily living.

The young person requires high levels of prompting and 1:1 support in a calm, structured manner. You will be expected to assist with his daily routine, support communication and engagement, and help maintain a safe, supportive home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a trusting and engaging relationship with the young person through consistent, calm, and clear communication
  • Provide regular prompting and support in everyday tasks
  • Support with personal care routines as needed (optional based on his level of independence)
  • Prepare and cook meals appropriate for his needs and dietary preferences
  • Do laundry and light cleaning to maintain his personal space
  • Encourage and support development of life skills and routines
  • Ensure a safe and autism-friendly environment
  • Work closely with his mother and any involved professionals (e.g., social workers, therapists)
  • Promote independence while respecting his pace and preferences

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $34.95 – $37.95 per hour
