Rivlow Pty Ltd is looking for qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team located in Hopeland. As a family run business Rivlow Portables specialises in both commercial and residential transportable buildings and delivering them across WA. This hands-on role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding steel components to precise specifications, ensuring structural integrity and high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble steel chassis, wall frames, and structural components for transportable buildings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
  • Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including MIG welders, grinders, saws, and drills.
  • cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
  • shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
  • aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
  • examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  • cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Assist in the installation and alignment of chassis and frame structures.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project timelines.

Skills and Experience:

· A certificate III with two years of on-the-job training OR a Certificate IV with 1 year of work experience OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience

· Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding (MIG/TIG).

· Strong understanding of steel frame construction or modular building systems.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

· Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
