Audit, Risk & Integrity Officer – Central Australia

Primary Objective

Work alongside the Director, Risk, Audit and Integrity (RAI) in the Office of the Chief Executive to strengthen NT Health's approach to internal audit, risk management and integrity – with a focus on Central Australia.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to apply your skills in compliance, risk and audit within the health sector with a background in clinical, medical or nursing fields considered. You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise across internal audit, risk management and integrity. Your work will help ensure that NT Health delivers safe, high-quality services to the community.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinating the roll-out of NT Health's Audit and Risk policies and frameworks across Central Australia.
  • Supporting internal audits and contributing to the integrity function where required.
  • Preparing high-quality reports on compliance, risk and audit matters, including remediation updates.
  • Assisting with risk workshops and helping divisions maintain and improve their risk registers.
  • Partnering with risk owners to develop and embed effective mitigation plans.
  • Ensuring workplace health, safety and service quality standards are upheld.
What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance, internal audit, risk management, or health/business processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to build trusted relationships and provide clear advice and reports to senior leaders.
  • Confident facilitator and presenter, with the ability to influence and encourage positive change.
  • Ability to navigate complex issues in cross-cultural settings with sensitivity and respect.
  • Experience in research, evidence gathering, analysis, and developing policies or frameworks.
  • Leadership qualities: able to guide, mentor and foster a risk-aware, inclusive culture.

Desirable

  • Experience as a medical or nursing professional.
  • Familiarity with clinical governance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (nursing, medicine, accounting, business management or related).
