Primary objective

Provision of strategic and operational support for the management, planning and coordination of health infrastructure and facilities in Central

Australia and Barkly region.

The position requires a self-starter, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, committed to delivering in order to achieve outcomes within

strict timelines. A key contributor working in a small professional team, with a customer focused and process improvement mindset.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. As a member of the Infrastructure and Facilities team oversee the financial and operational management of the NT Health infrastructure

programs including capital works, minor and repairs and maintenance as well as asset management, procurement, and compliance.

2. Provide expert leadership, strategic advice, and high-level reporting to NT Health executives, including the Director of Infrastructure and

Facilities, Strategic Infrastructure Committee, and Health Leadership Board.

3. Follow defined service quality standards, risk management policies, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

4. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, procurement bodies,

and clinical service leads, ensuring seamless coordination and integration of infrastructure planning with healthcare service delivery.

5. Cultivate effective and cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders across NT Health, and at all levels of government and

elsewhere to ensure successful project outcomes.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure planning processes, including NT Budget Development cycle, and financial and asset management

governance frameworks.

2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-level documentation, including ministerial briefs, business

cases, and strategic reports for executive stakeholders.

3. Demonstrated ability and understanding of clinical knowledge, skills and experience supporting well-developed clinical decision-making and

problem solving to achieve best practice outcomes for healthcare consumers.

4. In-depth knowledge of stakeholder engagement and service delivery principles, fostering a culture of transparency, fairness, and

responsiveness in interactions with internal and external partners.

5. Advanced expertise in program and project management methodologies, with the ability to apply best practices in planning, execution, risk

management, and performance evaluation of complex infrastructure initiatives.

6. Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial principles, with the ability to assess legal implications, manage contractual risks, and engage

legal expertise when required.

7. Thorough understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation, policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring infrastructure and facilities

align with workplace safety standards and healthcare regulations.

8. Proven ability to prioritise and deliver multiple deliverables, within strict timelines with a strong customer service focus.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in, project management, architecture, business or clinical domain and/or extensive experience in an appropriate role at

a Senior Level.

2. Relevant experience working in the health sector and/or State/Territory Government sector.
