We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer (Support) to join a dynamic, collaborative national team leading support services for the Advanced Digital Tower program. This role will play a key part in delivering cutting-edge digital aerodrome services as part of new developments and major upgrades at Western Sydney International Airport and Canberra Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, responding to technical service enquiries and issues throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Capture, analyse, and coordinate resolution of reported incidents and technical problems within agreed response times.
  • Design, plan, and implement system changes and extensions, including integration of components into existing environments.
  • Conduct system audits, acceptance testing, and on-site system verification to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to support product improvements based on customer feedback and field experience.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation related to systems and interfaces, ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Travel to customer sites across Australia and to Frequentis HQ in Vienna for training, support, and system deployment activities.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on hardware and software support experience in mission-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to investigate, analyse, and resolve HW/SW defects in live customer environments.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and incident tracking tools such as Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Experience working with Voice Communication Systems in safety-critical industries such as ATM, rail, or command and control centres.
  • Exposure to government frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience with systems including Linux (RedHat), databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle), VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), virtualisation (VMWare, ESXi), and network monitoring tools (WuG, Zabbix).
