
Social Worker- Acute Care Team

About the role
Deliver high quality, evidence-based social work clinical services in the assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health issues, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders, in an acute setting. This position operates as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team, deliver competent-level social work clinical services to consumers experiencing complex mental health treatment needs based on valid and reliable evidence, in accordance with professional practice, ethical and mental health standards to ensure culturally appropriate consumer focused outcomes. X
- Apply a developing knowledge of mental health legislation and policy (including Mental Health Act 2016 and the National Mental Health Standards) to facilitate the delivery of coordinated and integrated services.
- As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician commensurate with level of knowledge and clinical expertise.
