About the Role:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the engineering team to create and design technical drawings for the mechanical aspect of Minetek products. This role will support by reviewing specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts.

This role is dedicated to providing mechanical technical expertise on the design and delivery of a range of Minetek products which offer complete solutions to customers. This role with work closely with engineering team, as well as sales quality and production.

This role will be based either in North Sydney or Singleton office.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Design and produce detailed drawings of cost-effective Minetek solutions and products
  • Comply with Engineering Procedures within the company quality system
  • Preparation of detailed specifications of new products and components
  • Manage design projects to ensure completion within time and cost constraints
  • Provide engineering support in the design, development and introduction of equipment and processes
  • Track and action design changes and revision controls to ISO Quality standard
  • Provide the sales and marketing teams with product technical support and design information for estimating product pricing and quotations
  • Provide technical assistance for inclusion in quotation packages as required, with sufficient technical information to meet tender requirements

About You:

  • A relevant engineering degree and experience in a similar role (industrial, engineering, or mining environment)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, equipment installation, and fault diagnosis
  • Experience preparing project documentation (ITPs, O&M manuals, commissioning, design reports)
  • Hands-on involvement across all project phases – from concept and 3D modelling to detailed design
  • The ability to identify defects, solve problems, and adapt designs to meet project needs
  • Great communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
