As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be tasked with designing mechanical components and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves producing detailed technical drawings and specifications, while possessing a solid grasp of engineering principles to guarantee the functionality and reliability of product manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

• Innovative Design: Create cutting-edge product and concept designs.
• Client Consultation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet design requirements.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve design challenges effectively.
• Material Innovation: Explore and utilize innovative materials and processes.
• 3D CAD Expertise: Perform detailed 3D CAD modeling and detailing.
• Prototyping: Develop prototypes for concept designs.
• Design Consistency: Oversee the design style of product families, ensuring consistency in aesthetics, installation, usability, and function.
• Best Practices: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in industrial design engineering, including vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.
• Product Design Systems: Design, implement, and maintain product design systems to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Technical Input: Provide technical insights for component and material selection.
• Material Efficiency: Analyze and optimize material usage.
• Market Research: Conduct market research, analyze competitor products, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions.
• Team Collaboration: Actively engage with team members to achieve company KPIs and strategic objectives.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years experience in Industrial Design or Product Design or similar
• Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Industrial Design/Engineering
• Experience in New Product Introduction
• Knowledge of CAD systems in particular Solidworks
