We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Maternity Unit Manager- an opportunity to lead clinical care, support staff and drive quality outcomes, reporting to The Maternity Unit Manager.


About the Role:

Working clinically you will lead the operational delivery of our maternity services. Your role is key to ensuring the highest standard of woman-centred care in an environment that blends clinical innovation with genuine compassion.

You are responsible for supporting the team to provide safe, high-quality, and personalised care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the maternity team in alignment with The George Centre's strategic vision
  • Manage daily operations, clinical governance, and service delivery
  • Support staff recruitment, development, performance, and rostering
  • Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with NSQHS Standards and requirements
  • Foster collaborative relationships with obstetricians, pediatrician's, and allied health professionals

About You:

  • Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in maternity services, with recent leadership or NUM experience (highly desirable)
  • Proven ability to manage clinical teams in a private hospital or acute care setting (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of patient safety, clinical risk, and healthcare compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery, Health Leadership or Management (highly desirable)
