Based in Brisbane CBD, this permanent AO5 Executive Support Officer role is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Deputy Director-General, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (MRRD). You'll manage the DDG's calendar, coordinate briefings and meetings, and support a high-volume executive environment where every detail matters. From diary and travel to procurement, correspondence and stakeholder liaison, this is a role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-trust spaces.

This AO5 Executive Support Officer role supports the Deputy Director-General (DDG) of Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (MRRD), based at 1 William Street, Brisbane. This is a role for someone who thrives in dynamic executive environments and knows how to anticipate needs before they arise. Your tasks will include prioritising the DDG's calendar, scanning inboxes, and prepping the morning's briefings. You'll managing meeting logistics, chasing up action items, and preparing annotated agendas. By afternoon, you're processing SAP entries,
resolving procurement questions, finalising correspondence, and responding to urgent requests from senior stakeholders — all while keeping things calm and professional.
This is a fast-paced role that demands high levels of discretion, initiative and attention to detail. You'll manage correspondence, coordinate travel, prepare and quality-check documents for briefings, meetings and events, and ensure deadlines are tracked and met. You'll liaise with executives, ministerial offices and internal teams to manage workflows across the Office of the DDG. You'll also support the Executive Manager and Principal Executive Officer, contribute to system improvements, and help keep the wheels turning behind the scenes. You'll bring professionalism, humour, sharp communication skills and a proactive mindset.
We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. Someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational ability, and the confidence to work in a high-profile, fast-moving executive setting.
