We're looking for a full-time AO8 Project Manager for a temporary role (2-years) to join the Georesources division's Critical Minerals Queensland team. You'll be a key driver in operational and business planning for the Queensland Resources Common User Facility (QRCUF) — a major state initiative currently under construction inTownsville, designed to accelerate critical minerals processing. Based in Brisbane's CBD, this AO8 Project Manager role offers an opportunity to be part of a landmark project in Queensland's critical minerals future. You'll play a lead role in planning for operations of the Queensland Resources
Common User Facility (QRCUF) - a demonstration-scale processing facility in Townsville designed to support the testing and commercialisation of vanadium and other mineral resources.
Your days will be filled with complex project management, operational planning and high-level engagement with technical, legal and business stakeholders. You'll oversee project governance activities, contribute to strategy and planning and help ensure the QRCUF is operationally ready, well-resourced, and aligned with departmental frameworks. You'll liaise with internal teams, suppliers and future industry users, supporting the department's strategic role in the energy transition and mineral security.
You'll manage and deliver departmental responsibilities related to the QRCUF project - with a lead role integrating QRCUF operations into the department's existing structure, focusing on project governance and resourcing this new business area. This will range from project management and risk analysis to writing board papers, ministerial briefings, submissions, and communications materials. You'll represent the department at industry and community forums, and work with legal, financial and governance experts to help shape how this unique facility will run.
