Head of IT
You're an IT leader who thrives on autonomy, ownership, and making an impact.
You've proven yourself in roles where you've balanced strategy with hands-on leadership, and now you're ready for your next challenge. You want to be part of something global, but without losing that local empowerment to make decisions, shape a team, and see your work drive real outcomes.
In this role you'll lead IT across the Australia/New Zealand subsidiary of a large global multinational. Locally, you'll have full ownership of IT services, applications, and infrastructure, while working closely with a strong global IT leadership team. That balance means you'll enjoy the scale, systems, and support of a world-class global environment, without sacrificing the ability to make your mark and drive solutions locally.
Your team of around 7-8 spans service desk, infrastructure, networks, applications, and projects. They need a leader who can show, teach, and grow them - someone who brings maturity, coaches with empathy, and raises the bar. You'll get to restructure and shape the team as needed over the next 18–24 months as major new systems and capabilities are introduced.
Your remit covers both day-to-day stability and longer-term change. In the first 12 months, you'll:
- Lead the local delivery and adoption of global technology programs.
- Build trust and credibility with business stakeholders by listening closely, following through, and showing IT can be a true partner.
- Drive operational excellence across service delivery, infrastructure, and applications while uplifting processes and governance.
- Guide your team through growth, upskilling, and empowerment - turning bottlenecks into a high-performing capability.
The leadership environment is supportive, humble, and people-focused. The CEO and CFO values technology, the culture is collaborative, and you'll have direct access to decision-makers who want IT to succeed. There's also genuine flexibility: work from home two days a week.
Who we're looking for:
- A proven IT leader who's equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and operating strategically.
- Experience scaling small to mid-sized IT teams, coaching and mentoring to uplift capability and confidence.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills. You're able to bring people on a journey, build credibility, and simplify the complex.
- A track record of delivering IT services and transformation in environments where both stability and change matter.
- Proven ability to lead local IT operations while aligning with global standards - experience in a multinational context is highly regarded but not essential.
If you've been a hands-on IT Manager ready to step up, or you've already been operating at Head of IT level in a smaller business, this role will give you scope to stretch further, both locally and globally.
This is your chance to own IT across ANZ while contributing to a global strategy. Autonomy, empowerment, and impact - backed by the scale, mentorship and support of a multinational.
