We are currently recruiting a Client Support Specialist within our Foodbuy team to join the business, based in our support office in Melbourne CBD.
At Foodbuy, Compass Group Australia's dedicated procurement arm, we manage over 40,000 products through 3,300+ supply partners, with a strong commitment to local Australian sourcing and supporting Indigenous-owned and regional businesses. As Australia's largest foodservice and hospitality procurement organisation, Foodbuy plays a key role in delivering over 61 million meals annually across diverse industries—from mining and aged care to corporate and education.
THE ROLE
This role will see you as one of the key point of contact for providing support to your internal and external customers in relation to Supply Chain matters. Specifically, this includes ensuring efficient and effective operations of the Compass Group operating systems, as well as providing administrative and customer service support to both internal and external customers. The role is also responsible for identifying any strategic opportunities for innovation.
Main responsibilities:
- Act as an intermediary between operators, the purchasing department and the E-Business team
- Support the sales process through sourcing and providing quotes in a timely manner
- Provide logistics support and assist in resolving supply issues
- Ensure cost of goods, logistics, quality and overall service of suppliers are adhered to
- Influence and mentor Unit Managers so they can understand the strategic direction of Supply Chain and a "bigger picture" understanding of the purchasing process
- Ensure suppliers have appropriate third-party accreditation and insurances and are set up in line with company and supply chain policy
- Conduct desk top audit on key suppliers periodically
- Complete monthly reports including invoice price checks, site compliance and training on systems
- Database an Excel based catalogue management
THE PERSON
- Foodservice experience with a demonstrated background in operations
- Intermediate computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to establish and maintain a positive relationship with business stakeholders
- Ability to analyse situations and problem solve as required
- Experience in a previous customer service role
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain (desirable)
