As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you will provide expert advice and support on all workplace relations matters, working closely with HR practitioners across the University.
You will manage employee relations, interpret policies, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the Enterprise Agreement.
This role offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team and contribute to resolving complex workplace issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing Strategic Advice: Offering guidance on employment matters, policy interpretation, and employment conditions to HR, faculties, and operational divisions.
Managing Cases: Coordinating documentation and support for case management, prioritising and handling high volumes of work efficiently.
Drafting and Reviewing Documentation: Preparing for proceedings, assisting with appearances, and independently managing cases as instructed.
Resolving Grievances: Assessing initial queries, coordinating documentation, and supporting grievance and dispute resolution processes.
You may be a great fit if:
You will bring extensive experience in workplace relations within an enterprise agreement environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, stakeholder management, and a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
You may also:
Have experience working with unions, particularly in large organisations with significant union presence.
Possess a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrate excellent written communication skills and the ability to convey information accurately.
Be adept at managing projects or tasks, ensuring progress towards goals and objectives.
Be resilient, using lateral thinking and common sense to address complex matters.

This function is responsible for developing the people strategy to support the University's strategic plan and is accountable for the performance and delivery of the Human Resources function across the University. It provides policy, industrial relations and critical advice and guidance ensuring that the University is compliant and cohesive whilst creating a culture that attracts and retains talent.
