We are seeking an experienced Commercial Business Manager to join our talented Commercial Sales Team in the Karndean Australia operation.
This role drives revenue growth by nurturing existing flooring contractor relationships to identify and pursue new opportunities and feed the sales pipeline. The CBM is also responsible for ensuring that specifications do not get switched out during the value management process. Primary customers will be flooring contractors, Tier 3 & 4 A&D firms, identified local end-user clients and other trades.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to leverage their strong relationship management and hunting skills to identify commercial opportunities across Queensland. And ideally they'll be a team player and collaborator, as well as having experience working across segments including multi-res, social housing, aged living, and retail commercial.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include -
Market Research and Prospecting
- Identifying potential customers in the commercial flooring market.
- Developing targeted prospect lists.
- Analysing market trends and opportunities.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends in core commercial segments (e.g. Retail, Aged Care, Social Housing, Multi-Residential).
Sales Pipeline Development and Conversion
- Creating and managing comprehensive sales pipeline.
- Developing compelling proposals and presentations.
- Taking ownership of pipeline health and conversion metrics - "Owning the Numbers".
- Collaborating with the sales team and cross-functional teams to ensure a unified approach in addressing customer needs.
- Using CRM systems and other technology solutions to manage leads, track interactions, and analyse data for effective follow-up and conversion.
Strategic Relationship Building
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with potential customers.
- Building long-term business partnerships.
Market Intelligence and Strategic Insights
Providing feedback on customer needs and competitor movements specifically within target segments.
Providing strategic insights to management.
- Contributing towards the company's growth through continuous improvements in sales processes, product development and marketing strategies.
Reporting and Performance Management
- Preparing regular sales reports.
- Maintaining rigorous CRM hygiene, timely reporting, leveraging sales tools for efficiency.
- Tracking and reporting on KPIs.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in B2B commercial sales within the building supplies industry.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably commercial construction and flooring.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to explain solutions and associated value propositions.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong networks within an industry / geographic region coupled with solid industry knowledge (e.g. construction, aged, social housing, retail),
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate success outcomes and work effectively with customers and colleagues
- A current driver's licence.
