We are part of a well-established US based global company, founded over 100 years ago that manufactures and supplies innovative market leading axle and suspension systems into the heavy transport industry. We have operated successfully in Australia since 1973 and pride ourselves on being the leading force in suspension design and evolution.
THE POSITION
You will have full accountability for identifying new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving revenue and market share growth across the Western Australiaregion with fleets, dealers, workshops, and OEMs where Hendrickson does not have a strong existing presence. Your primary focus will be on fleet pull-through activities, and OEM onboarding and initial development.
Hendrickson is on a journey of accelerated growth and with our strong local & international foundation to support our growth strategy, this position alongside our wider Business Development team is critical to our regional strategy.
Your key responsibilities to support Hendrickson's growth strategy include but not limited to:
- Initiate, maintain, and build business relationships with fleets, dealers, workshops, and less mature OEM accounts.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Western Australia market including both new customers in existing segments and new segments.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Actively source new leads and generate sales through cold calls, networking, and attending industry events.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Assure effective communication of product and market information within the sales group and pertinent internal staff. Provide necessary product service support as required.
- Coordinate information regarding part number changes, engineering revisions, pricing changes, and technical service materials. Coordinate responses to inquiries with appropriate departments.
- Develop, maintain, report, and monitor information about customers and market activities. Provide feedback on customer service, delivery performance, marketing programs, forecasts, OEM build rates and product performance.
THE PERSON
- Critical to success will be your proven experience in Business Development within the automotive, industrial, or related industry.
- Industry & Technical knowledge of heavy vehicles and markets including trucks and trailers.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and networking abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-Motivated & Results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives from start to finish.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or another related field (desirable but not essential).
