Adelaide, South Australia DC ENGINEERING Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production. You will draw new designs and/or update our current designs, and other responsibilities mentioned below. During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meeting all necessary design responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, draft and model scaffold plan using AutoCAD and or Revit in accordance with client specific project specifications and timelines. This also includes formwork designs
  • Review scaffold designs and prepare detailed calculation report
  • Prepare draft and/or hand sketches scaffold designs to designers/drafters
  • Prepare structural model and analysis using structural software
  • Meet with clients and other stakeholders (on and off site) to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate and highly detailed technical drawings and plans
  • Utilise engineering specifications and standards to perform design and drafting tasks, working within regulations and contract provisions
  • Conduct thorough reviews and revisions to ensure accuracy and compliance throughout the engineering process, identifying and resolving any issues
  • Assist with preparation of bill of materials (BOM) to accurately measure, estimate and price scaffold projects
  • Maintain a high level of records management including all revisions and updates utilising company nominated systems
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of all applicable policies and work methods associated with assigned duties
  • Identify and report and all hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses
  • Participate in and contribute to housekeeping audits and other health and safety initiatives and training
  • Be responsible for ensuring the quality of own work
  • Be vigilant of Company's assets, monitor, and report any activities resulting in the loss, misuse or misappropriation of Company assets or resources.
  • Ensure a high standard of communication
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders
  • Attend internal and external meetings as scheduled
  • Provide support to drafters and/or engineers as required
  • Undertake other duties as required as may be reasonably and lawfully given, having regard to your skills, training and experience

Qualifications

  • Civil or Structural degree. Professional registration with Engineers Australia is highly desirable

Skills and Competencies

  • Previous experience in scaffolding or formwork (temporary works)
  • Previous experience operating in a senior technical role
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Robot Structural Analysis (or similar systems)
  • Familiarity with any structural analysis software
  • 5 years plus structural engineering experience within the construction industry (preferably temporary works)
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow drawings, procedures and work instructions and have a sound understanding of Australian construction terminology and building methods
  • Effective problem-solving skills, self- motivated and results driven
  • Sound time management and time keeping skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Team player with a strong commitment to quality, safety, sustainable work practices and achieving high levels of productivity
  • Intermediate to advanced level computer and technology skills (Microsoft office)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build and maintain internal working relationships which contribute to a harmonious, efficient and productive working culture
