About the role

Ellex Medical Pty Ltd is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in our Adelaide office. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of innovative medical devices that improve the lives of patients around the world. This is a full-time position based at our manufacturing site in Mawson Lakes.

Some examples of what you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new medical device products
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications using CAD software
  • Conduct design analysis, prototyping, and testing to ensure product functionality and reliability
  • Support the product development lifecycle from concept to commercialisation
  • Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges
  • Document design processes and maintain accurate records
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices and methodologies

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical , Opto-mechanical or echatronic is essential.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the medical device industry
  • Proficiency in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Experience with design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles
  • Proven history of working within a diverse engineering organisation under minimal supervision.
