QUALTECH (TAS) provides expert service and advice in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and operates four laboratories across Tasmania specialising in soil, aggregate, pavement and concrete testing.
Our experienced team of qualified technicians offer a diverse range of materials testing and analysis for projects across the Tasmania, as well as providing consulting and expert services in all areas of the CMT and Concrete mix designs. Our NATA accredited laboratories are located across the state: Derwent Park, Leslie Vale, Breadalbane and Burnie.

Description
About the ROLE
We are seeking an experienced, Construction Material Tester and Technician to contribute and assist with the growth and reliability of our business, providing a high-quality service to our clients.
We are open to discuss your requirements – permanent full time, permanent part time or casual role.
This position supports our Northern Operations team at Breadalbane. Key duties may include but not limited to:
- Visiting client sites across domestic, commercial and industrial project sites and quarries to sample and collect concrete samples
- Conduct concrete compressive / flexural testing
- Conduct soil and aggregate and pavement testing in both field based project sites, quarries and lab settings
- Cleaning and maintenance of field sampling equipment and laboratory
- Ensure accurate, timely records and reporting, in line with NATA Accreditation requirements.
- Routine quality assurance checks and calibrations
- Collaborating and communicating with internal and external customers
Skills And Experiences
About YOU
- A commitment to our Safety 1st Always Works framework
- Proven previous experience in Construction Material Testing – tell us the test methods you are experienced in.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, paired with high attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality assurance.
- The ability to work independently through efficient time management
- Current unrestricted driver licence (manual). Regional travel is essential for the role and a Company pool vehicle will be provided.
- Capability of undertaking physical work, compliant with applicable PPE requirements
- Flexible with working hours. QUALTECH typically operates a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 16:30 however some weekend, early/late starts and overnight work may be required from time to time.
