Job Title: Support Worker – Specialist in Autism & Intellectual Disabilities

Location where service is required: Western Suburbs of Melbourne

Employment Type: Casual

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Male Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting individuals with diverse disabilities, with particular expertise in autism and intellectual disabilities (ID). This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life through personalized care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide direct care and support to clients with autism and intellectual disabilities.

* Assist clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and social engagement.

* Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.

* Promote positive behavior management strategies and ensure a safe, respectful environment.

* Support clients in building life skills, community participation, and achieving personal goals.

* Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.

* Advocate for clients' rights and dignity at all times.

Requirements:

* Proven experience working as a support worker, preferably with clients who have autism and intellectual disabilities.

* Understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Relevant certifications or training in disability support, first aid, or related fields are an advantage.

* Male candidates preferred to meet specific client needs.
