Job Description

The Team

The Delivery and Operations team at SEEK is made up of a Program Manager, business analysts and a software architect. Reporting to the program manager, you will be a foundational member of the new Delivery and Operations function within AI and Platform Services. The new team serves dual purposes: driving delivery excellence across AI initiatives while managing critical operational elements including R&D investments, cost management, and budget oversight for the department.

As a Business Analyst in this team you will work closely with the AI Product Managers, Engineers and Data Scientists that make up one of several AI product delivery teams. Other important stakeholders for the Business Analyst include front-end delivery teams we partner with, and the data analytics teams.

The Role

As a Business Analyst, your primary focus will be on delivering detailed and accurate business analysis to support initiative objectives. Specifically, at SEEK we follow agile delivery practices, and as a Business Analyst you will play a critical role in optimising the delivery of AI products within AI and Platform Services. You will work closely with one or more AI product teams, delivering high value AI product with cutting edge technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish initiative scope, objectives, and deliverables, and validate requirements.
• Gather and document business requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Define key objectives, scope, and dependencies, ensuring traceability and alignment with business value objectives.
• Assist in solution design and evaluate proposed solutions.
• Identify and assess risks associated with initiatives.
• Contribute to developing test cases, support in testing and verifying solutions.
• Support iteration planning by assisting in backlog refinement, help track progress during iterations to ensure timely and effective delivery of user stories.
• Contribute to iteration reviews and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and enhance project delivery.
• Develop and document current (as is) and future state (to-be) business processes to support business transformation initiatives.
• Participate in the change management processes to ensure smooth transition of new systems and processes.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven commercial experience in a Business Analyst role in a technology organisation.
• Proficient in applying one or more agile methodologies.
• Proven experience in conducting detailed business analysis and documenting highly complex technical requirements.
• Proficient in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Miro) and relevant modelling techniques and tools.
• Experience managing iteration planning, backlog refinement, and tracking progress.
• Ability to identify initiative risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to communicate across teams and functions.
• Knowledge of project management principles and ability to manage initiative timelines.
• Understanding of change management processes and ability to support change initiatives.

Other Skills and Experience

• Experience using advanced data analytics platforms and techniques for strategic insights.
• Experience of risk management efforts across large-scale programs with significant impact.
• Experience in AI product delivery.
• Experience or qualifications in software engineering.
• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience optimising product delivery.
