Business Analyst - 12 Month Contract

The Opportunity

Downer's Energy & Utilities division is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Finance Performance team on a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting operational transformation projects that standardise operating models across multiple business support functions.

This is a high-impact role where you'll partner with stakeholders across the organisation to analyse processes, gather requirements, and define solutions that drive efficiency, consistency, and accountability. You'll work in a collaborative team environment where ownership and continuous improvement are at the core of what we do.

What you'll do

In this role you will:

  • Analyse processes, gather business requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Document business processes, standardised definitions, and agreed solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Risk, and Operations to align outcomes.
  • Support solution design, testing, and implementation with Downer Digital and project teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business users and technical teams.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced and driven Business Analyst who brings:

  • 3+ years' experience in a business analyst or similar role, ideally within Energy & Utilities or complex industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex processes into clear solutions.
  • Experience in Finance, Commercial and/or Risk environments.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, Power Query, Power Apps, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
