Are you passionate about protecting our natural landscapes and promoting sustainable land management? We're looking for a Senior Stewardship Officer to join our dedicated team to help us eradicate feral deer and goats across the stunning Hills and Fleurieu region, supporting farmers and protecting our highly productive and diverse landscapes.
This key role will utilise your landholder and industry engagement, GIS, database and project management skills to build and maintain landholder participation in the program. You will provide advice and support to landholders and will work with highly skilled contractors to provide a high level of service to the community.
As an Authorised Officer under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, you'll also help uphold environmental compliance and contribute to vital on-ground projects, policy implementation, and planning efforts.

As a Senior Stewardship Officer, you will:
- Support rural land managers, community members and industry groups to care for land, water, and biodiversity.
- Provide practical, tailored advice on grazing pressure management associated with feral deer and goats.
- Connect landholders with resources, tools, and networks to build their stewardship capabilities.
- Conduct property visits, and deliver workshops, and field days.
- Manage on-ground projects, assist with grants, support compliance activities, and contribute to policy and resource development.
About You:-
- A confident communicator - you're comfortable presenting, running events, and translating technical content into plain language for diverse audiences.
- Detail-savvy - you've gathered, analysed, and reported data for project delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
- Skilled in land management - you bring knowledge and experience in pest animal control.
- Collaborative by nature - you've worked with community organisations, landholders, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Legislation literate - you can interpret and apply relevant laws and policies with ease.
The Details:
- One full-time (37.5 hrs/per week) position.
- Term position for 12 months available immediately.
- Located in Mount Barker, South Australia.
Remuneration:
ASO5 - $85,790 - $95,413 per annum, pro-rata.

- This role has been designated a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework and requires a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to employment.
