About the Role

We're looking for a capable and motivated Mechanical Design Drafter to join our team. This role suits someone with solid drafting experience or a keen early-career professional ready to contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. You'll be involved in technical design work, project coordination, and hands-on problem-solving—bringing ideas to life in a practical, collaborative environment

Position Summary

You will be detail-oriented and capable Mechanical Design Drafter to support the delivery of high-quality mechanical design and documentation across a range of industrial and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on producing accurate 3D models and drawings, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and ensuring that all documentation meets technical and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

• Collaborate closely with engineers to translate concepts and calculations into practical, buildable designs.

• Coordinate drafting activities across multiple projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

• Support internal team communication and contribute to design reviews and quality checks.

• Assist with the integration of point cloud data and site survey information into design models (if applicable).

• Obtain Point Cloud Data by performing occasional onsite Terrestrial Scans.

• Conduct occasional site visits to verify design intent and gather field data.

• Attend internal coordination meetings and contribute to design discussions.

• Maintain drawing standards and contribute to the improvement of drafting templates and workflows.

• Support documentation for tenders, specifications, and construction packages.

• Generation of shop drawings for fabrication.

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and 2D/3D CAD drafting.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering sketches and specifications.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical drafting role (or equivalent hands-on experience).

• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence.

Desirable:

• Experience with point cloud data (capture and integration).

• Background in trades, manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication.

• Engineering degree (not mandatory).

• Exposure to multi-disciplinary project environments.

• Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and compliance requirements.
