Inertia is an engineering consultancy specialising in delivering structural, civil and water engineering solutions for clients within the built environment. On the back of continued success, we are seeking an experienced Civil Drafter to join our Urban design team to assist in the delivery of a diverse range of projects across both brownfield and Greenfield developments.

Requirements


• Education: A diploma or associate's degree in civil drafting, CAD technology, or a related field.


• Experience: Proven experience as a civil drafter, with a portfolio of completed projects.


• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.


• Civil Engineering Knowledge: A strong understanding of civil engineering principles, drafting standards, and a familiarity with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.


• Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Effective communication and teamwork skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Design: Create and revise detailed civil engineering plans, including site layouts, grading plans, storm drain and sewer systems, and road designs, using CAD software.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure drawings meet project specifications, design intent, and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain and organize project files, drawing revisions, and documentation in a clear and accessible manner. Ensure all work adheres to company and client standards.
  • Review and Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant codes and regulations. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and assistance during all phases of a project, from initial design through to construction.
