Team Leader Operational Accounting- South Bank, QLD

Purpose:

The Operational Accounting Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the business. By leading and developing a high-performing team, this role drives process improvements, strengthens financial controls, and enhances operational effectiveness. As a key link between operational accounting and broader business functions, this role supports strategic decision-making by delivering insights that mitigate risk, identify opportunities, and improve financial performance. By maintaining strong governance and driving operational excellence, the Team Leader directly contributes to the organisation's financial health and long-term success.

Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:

• Weekly Business Meetings (WBM)
• Oversee ledger management tasks and approve daily ELFs
• Monthly Reviews - Conduct and ensure completion of Day 1 and Day 4
• P&L reviews, identify and report on financial health overview reviews
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback and support
• Set clear expectations for daily team activities and be available for team queries, resolving escalations promptly
• Weekly reporting on ticket volumes, financial risk reviews, and deliver team-specific training sessions.
• Manage transfer processes to completion, including status updates, final checks, and escalations
• Oversee onboarding of new team members, ensure all team members meet KPIs, and promote training for team members and approve team timesheets, coordinate team social activities, and set professional expectations for team members
• Expense claims; Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes; Engage in process improvements, Omnis testing, and clean-up activities
• Engage in process improvements, Omnis testing, and clean-up activities to enhance operational efficiency
• Assist stakeholders with their financial queries

Experience:

• Leadership experience managing a Finance team
• At least 2 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
• Completed Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or
  similar or studying towards
