The role is integral to maintaining high standards of service and continuous improvement within the logistics function.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the logistics operations by liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, freight forwarders, transportation companies, and customers.
  • Obtain shipping quotes, track delivery status, and create necessary shipping documentation in collaboration with logistics partners.
  • Control data entry into ERP (JDE) and warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate and timely updates of documents.
  • Monitor and follow up on shipments from overseas suppliers to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Manage shipping documents from suppliers and customers, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor and update information related to estimated times of arrival (ETAs), transhipments, unload dates, and Biosecurity/IFIS holds.
  • Compile and chase all import documentation required for shipments.
  • Monitor the daily performance of transport companies and report on delivery times.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and promote a culture of safety within the logistics team.
  • Actively participate in the Multotec Excellence Program (MEP) focusing on logistics improvement across key objectives: Safety, Quality, People, Speed, Cost, and Innovation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Entry-level experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency in data entry and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with JDE is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement practices.
