Due to continued growth, Symons Clark Logistics is seeking an experienced Engine Rebuild Specialist – Heavy Vehicles to join our professional Workshop Team based in Port Adelaide.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for carrying out high-quality repairs, maintenance, and full engine rebuilds on our heavy vehicle fleet. This hands-on role is perfect for a qualified Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in their work, enjoys technical challenges, and wants to be part of a supportive, values-led team.

Adelaide-based positions – 7 days on / 7 days off roster (12-hour shift) and 5 days on / 2 days off, or regular afternoon shift options.

What you will be doing…

  • Perform complete engine rebuilds and overhauls on heavy vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Action driver defect reports and complete all required documentation.
  • Conduct test drives and inspections to ensure repairs are completed to the highest standard.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Mentor and support apprentices and less experienced technicians where required.

Do you have…

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (essential).
  • Proven experience in engine rebuilds and heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and auto-electrical systems (advantageous).
  • A current C Class driver's licence (HC licence desirable).
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screening, and Police Check.
