Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Violence Respondent Practitioner (FVRP) to join our team and play a vital role in supporting the Court's response to family violence. This position works closely with the Family Violence Applicant Practitioner (FVAP), Family Violence Registrar (FVR), court registrars, police prosecutors, lawyers, and support services to ensure the safety of applicants and accountability of respondents.
The FVRP will conduct assessments, facilitate referrals, and provide expert information to Magistrates, while also building strong relationships with community agencies to support behaviour change and reduce the risk of further violence.
Key Responsibilities:
; Conduct Court-ordered assessments and refer respondents to appropriate support services and programs.
; Provide expert information to Magistrates regarding respondent needs and service availability.
; Communicate specialist family violence concepts and court procedures to respondents and stakeholders.
; Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with privacy and consent protocols.
; Represent the Court at stakeholder meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
; Update case management systems and prepare reports on service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
; Deliver education and training to internal and external services as required.

About you
; Have expert knowledge of family violence support services and demonstrated experience in crisis support, risk assessment, and case coordination.
; You are passionate about supporting people impacted by family violence.
; You have strong skills and experience in client engagement and risk assessment.
; You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
; You have demonstrated experience working within the family violence service system.
