About the role:
Baptcare delivers Family Violence response interventions to a range of diverse cohorts in the community, providing therapeutic supports to adult and children victim survivors, as well as women who use force in their intimate relationships.
The Family Violence Response Practitioner delivers evidence-based family violence group programs, such as Positive SHIFT (Supports Healing and Innovated Forward Thinking), which provides a 16-week program to women who use force in their intimate relationships. As a specialist Family Violence service, the program aligns with best practice, encompassing a focus on therapeutic group work, with a focus on group members' motivations, intent, and consequences of their actions with regards to awareness of their use of force.
The Family Violence Response Practitioner will be part of an integrated team focused on therapeutic recovery and behavioural change, alongside an integrated team of therapeutic practitioners supporting victim survivor recovery, after violence ends.
About You / Key selection criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of therapeutic models and theories to develop interventions that enable positive change
- Evidence-informed understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and violence on adults, children, and young people
- Ability to utilise individual face to face therapeutic skills with adults
- Be self-directed and work autonomously and demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of information sharing in the context of family violence provisions and the child information sharing scheme, aligning with the MARAM Framework
- Ability to undertake client centred therapeutic assessments and develop a therapeutic goal plan in partnership with the client that reflects the individual needs of the client
- Ability to adjust to meet the changing situations of the client group while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
- Strong computer skills and use of full suite of Microsoft office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and problem-solving
- Adaptable to changing environments while maintaining and promoting client-centred practices
- Alignment and commitment to Baptcare's Mission, Vision, and Values
Essential Qualifications:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or other relevant Human Services qualification and/or experience.
- Skills and experience relevant to Recommendation 209 requirements
Please Note: All qualifications must be in alignment with the mandatory minimum qualification requirement, via one of the available employment pathways in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant Human Services qualification. This aligned to Recommendation 209 from the Royal Commission in Family Violence.
