Our Endoscopy/IBD Unit is a modern service in comfortable facilities led by exceptional Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Registered Nurses and other compassionate Caregivers. We are seeking a Clinical Nurse in the specialty of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) on a 12 month fixed term basis to join our Subiaco Unit. The Clinical Nurse/Midwife acts as a responsible and effective team member and leader, assists in the overall clinical management of the Unit, is responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care provided by nurses in accordance with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency).
The Position
- Provide reliable information to patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and monitoring. 
- Act as a central point of contact, coordinating care with treating physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure a coherent pathway for patients. 
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care and offering consultation services within the IBD specialty. 
- Initiate research, developing clinical practice standards and participating in quality improvement activities within the gastroenterology department. 
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other nurses, especially in the IBD field. 
- Act as shift coordinator as required and in liaison with the Nurse / After Hours Manager/ Perioperative flow manager and monitors staffing levels continuously to ensure appropriate numbers of skilled staff are available within the agreed productivity targets. 
- Systematically evaluate actions and document the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions (including monitoring diagnostic results) and report significant anomalies promptly. 
- Ensure documentation of planned nursing care and holistic care plan remains current and regularly evaluate documentation of the multidisciplinary team to determine their compliance to hospital policy. 
You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with significant post registration experience within IBD specialty and the ability to practice at an advanced level.
To succeed you will have well developed leadership and communication skills with the ability to educate, support and mentor patients, family and caregivers.

- Salary: $104,903 to $110,954 plus 12% superannuation
