About The Position
To provide courteous and efficient Waste Operator services at the Muswellbrook Waste & Recycling Facility and the Denman Waste Transfer Station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and safe sites, including litter removal, mowing, and equipment use
  • Operate Council's weighbridge in line with EPA and National Measurement Institute requirements
  • Serve customers, process EFTPOS/cash payments, issue receipts, and complete reconciliations
  • Identify and classify waste, direct customers, and maximise recycling opportunities
  • Assist with safe disposal, Reuse Shop sales, and management of mulch and woodchip stockpiles
  • Follow WHS procedures, contribute to risk assessments, and ensure site security systems are active

About You

  • Certificate III in Waste Management, or 12+ months' relevant experience, or willingness to complete the course
  • Proven Year 10 level literacy/numeracy with ability to complete forms, data entry, and basic cashiering
  • Current NSW White Card (Construction Induction Certificate)
  • Class C Driver's Licence or higher
  • Experience operating facilities in line with safety and EPA guidelines
  • Weighbridge Operations Statement of Attainment, or willingness to obtain

What We Offer

  • Full Time, 38 hours per week, with a Salary from $60,120 to $67,546 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation and access to a 9 day Fortnight system.
