The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The role

The Assistant Director Grants and Recovery is a high-level leader in the grants and subsidies administration and debt recovery operations. They represent the Department of Treasury and Finance in relation to the operation of various grant and subsidy schemes, contributes to the development and consideration of policy matters of a technical nature and advises on the strategic direction and development of grants and subsidies schemes and debt recovery operations.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in a regulatory environment with the ability to lead fast-paced, high-quality and customer-focused service delivery. They will be able to interpret and apply legislation and have experience or an understanding of debt collection strategies in a regulatory context. They should be passionate about building team culture and capability.

This position operates in the context of

. This means you will be required to deliver results through leaders and your teams in a single business area, and by influencing leaders in other business areas. You will add value by providing direction and developing and coaching your leaders to achieve operational objectives. You will make decisions about how services should be provided based on the resources at hand.
