The Western Australian Government's Market-led Proposals (MLP) Policy is an innovative pathway for the Government and industry to work together to create jobs, stimulate the economy and deliver public value. MLPs allow the Government to harness good ideas, private sector investment and entrepreneurship to develop projects that will benefit Western Australians. This process is managed by the MLP Secretariat within the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.

The Project Directors are responsible for project delivery of key components of the Market-Led Proposals process. The Project Directors lead liaison with senior representatives from private proponents and state agencies. They coordinate and contribute to the complex, cross-agency analysis of proposals and prepares resulting advice to senior government decision makers.

As a Project Director you will provide research and analytical support to the Executive Director MLP, assisting with all aspects of the process, from strategic analysis and assessment of proposals, completion of project administration tasks and representing the Executive Director MLP on evaluation panels.

This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent and fixed term full-time and part-time opportunities. Suitable applicants will be placed in a Pool from which appointments may be made for similar vacancies for a period of 12 months.

Our Perth office is located in the Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated extensive conceptual, analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to lead the development and management of strategies.
  • Experience in project and/or program management (commercial and public sector).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence effectively and lead the delivery of a customer-centric service.
  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication that are clear and appropriate for a wide range of senior stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of Government procurement standards and practices is desirable.
  • Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.
