Casual Freelance IT Bid Manager / Technical Tender Writer

• Identify opportunities through national tender platforms and collaborate with our digital agency team to lead the preparation of enterprise web development and AI solution proposals.

• Flexible and fully remote role.

• Engage on an as-needed basis as new tender opportunities are identified, potentially ranging between 0 to 16 hours per week. This role may suit someone looking for additional casual work to complement their existing employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor for and pursue relevant tenders on time through various national and state based tender platforms.

• Lead the preparation of compelling and compliant bids for government and enterprise private sector web development and AI solution contracts.

• Lead internal developers and client service team members in gathering and writing technical content, project histories, compliance assets and pricing inputs.

• Write tailored executive summaries, methodology statements, capability statements, and schedules.

• Continuously improve our existing bid library with up-to-date CVs, company info, case studies and compliance documents. Maintain our presence on all relevant tender platforms.

• Track tender opportunities, submission timelines, and follow-up actions.

Relevant Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical IT bid/tender writing roles relevant to web development or similar IT solutions.

• Experience with IT projects and a general understanding of the components that make up a website development contract and the ability to comprehend and write informed responses to technical tender questions with some assistance from the development team.

• Strong understanding of government and private procurement processes and tender compliance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — clear, persuasive, accurate.

• Able to work proactively and autonomously without direction when monitoring for and leading the development of bids within submission timelines.

• Comfortable working casually/remotely, with gaps between tender cycles.

• A cover letter outlining why you would be ideal for this role, your desired hourly rate, what your casual availability per week is in hours (e.g hours and only on X days/times for any meetings), and confirmation that you are happy that some weeks may have no hours depending on opportunities listed.

• An outline of demonstrated experience in the above key responsibilities and skills

• A short anecdotal example of a scenario where you identified and qualified a relevant IT contract to bid for, led a technical bid team to generate a response, navigated any non-compliances, either won or didn't win (either is fine), gathered learnings and refined your bid library with any updated assets and lessons from the bid
