We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic Technology Operations team. About the Opportunity 

The Quality Assurance Lead plays a key role in delivering seamless, high-quality user experiences across VicRoads' digital platforms, including websites and mobile apps. Working within agile delivery teams, you'll lead the end-to-end testing function to drive both manual and automated testing strategies that align with product roadmaps and Agile methodologies.

You'll be responsible for planning and executing comprehensive testing across web and mobile channels, defining test scope and strategy based on user journeys and functional requirements. This includes creating repeatable test plans, configuring test environments, and coordinating testing across devices, platforms, and browsers to ensure a consistent and reliable user experience.

In addition to hands-on testing, you'll provide leadership to testers across digital projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion continuous improvement in QA practices, making a direct impact on the quality and success of VicRoads' digital products.

About you 
You're a seasoned Quality Assurance professional with a passion for delivering exceptional digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. With a strong foundation in software testing and leadership, you thrive in agile environments and enjoy driving quality outcomes through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring 10+ years of experience in software testing, including 2+ years in a QA Lead capacity.

  • Have deep expertise in testing web and mobile applications (iOS/Android), including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Demonstrate strong experience in leading QA across multiple product teams and aligning with release trains.

  • Have hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. TestRail, Zephyr, XRAY).

  • Are well-versed in Agile delivery methodologies and have worked within Agile teams.

  • Are skilled in coordinating test activities across design, development, and product teams.

  • Hold or are working towards ISTQB certification and/or Agile delivery training (desirable).

  • Have exposure to test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Appium, Cypress) and platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.

  • Understand API testing and accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.1), and have experience testing for inclusive design.

  • Enjoy mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to QA capability uplift across teams.
