About the Role

Join the team at Professional Health Care Services as a Disability Support Worker, providing high-quality care and support to clients with a range of disabilities. In this rewarding role, you'll help clients live independently, achieve their personal goals, and participate actively in their communities.

Location: Rouse Hill, Castle Hill, South Western Sydney, and Western Sydney, NSW

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in social and recreational activities
  • Support clients to access the community and participate in educational, vocational, or leisure pursuits
  • Administer medication and follow all health, safety, privacy, and confidentiality procedures
  • Advocate for clients' rights and ensure their individual needs are met
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Liaise with families, carers, and other professionals as required
  • Stay informed about NDIS policies and apply them to daily work
  • Participate in ongoing training provided by Registered Nurses and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners

What We're Looking For

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in disability, community services, or a related field
  • Previous experience supporting people with disabilities (preferred)
  • Manual handling experience (highly regarded)
  • Experience in complex high intensity with the knowledge Complex Bowel Care, Enteral Care Feeding and Management (Naso-gastric tube), Dysphagia Management, Complex Wound Management, Subcutaneous (Sub Cut) injections, Tracheostomy Management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an empathetic, client-focused approach
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Current and unrestricted full driver's licence (mandatory) – must be able to drive NDIS mobility vans
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, as some clients have a preference for female support workers for personal care and cultural reasons
  • Current First Aid Certificate
