Carers Victoria is the peak body representing the needs and interests of unpaid carers across Victoria. We're a for-purpose organisation working to ensure unpaid carers are recognised, supported and connected. We provide advice, respite, education and advocacy.
About the role
The Carer Insights and Evaluation Lead will play a key role in delivering a strategic program of work to collect, analyse, and share data on carers, their priorities, and the impact of the supports they receive. The position will have a particular focus on supporting the roll-out and evaluation of a whole-of-organisation approach to measure the health and wellbeing outcomes of carers who receive support and programs provided by Carers Victoria.
Working within a small Policy and Insights team, this role involves managing a cross-organisational program of evaluation and quantitative data analysis activities. You will need to be proactively identifying and analysing external research, large datasets, and intelligence sources to generate strategic insight and distil these findings into compelling reports.
This position is vital to raising public awareness, informing policy submissions, grant applications, and evidence-based planning, and contributing to efforts that enhance the health and wellbeing of unpaid carers across Victoria.
What you'll be doing
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivery of a strategic program of collection, analysis and dissemination of data and intelligence about carers, their priorities and the impact of the supports they receive.
- Designing effective strategies to engage with carers to gain their feedback and insights in a safe and respectful manner
- Developing and implementing a strategic framework to guide priorities for Carers Victoria's engagement in external research projects and initiatives
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver timely, accurate and insightful data and analysis to support advocacy, policy and program development, and other activities to improve outcomes for carers
Skills & experience
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience in managing strategic change projects related to evaluation and/or strategic insights.
- Experience in leading the delivery and review of evaluation programs and associated data collections, ideally in the health, social care or related sector/s
- Knowledge of, and experience in, using validated tools related to personal health and wellbeing to capture insights and experience in working with large and varied quantitative data sets to produce compelling analysis and reports.
- Great collaboration skills and the ability to positively support and motivate work colleagues to support achievement of team priorities and goals
Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in psychology or other relevant discipline, which includes components related to working with, and analysis of, data and other intel or extensive senior experience in a similar role
- Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement
