Seeding Machine Operator (Vegetable Seedling Nursery)

GroLink, is a successful commercial Nursery producing and supplying vegetable seedlings / plants to customers Victoria wide. A position has become available for a Machine Operatorto run the Nurseries Seedling Sowing Production line.

This position includes:

  • Operating the sowing machinery production line
  • Placing Seed Orders
  • Receiving seed deliveries / maintaining records / secure storage of seeds
  • Supervising and Organising Staff members / Sowing Teams
  • Applying food hygiene & safe work practices

The ideal person requires:

  • Previous experience on machinery production lines (all types of  industries acceptable) and maintaining accurate records
  • Experience in supervising / managing small teams
  • Proven ability to follow production processes & procedures
  • High regard for safety standards
  • Fit to manage some manual handling
  • Flexibility to support other Nursery departments as required
  • Good communication and ability to liaise with other departments, workers and managers.

Knowledge or exposure in nursery or horticulture is an advantage but not essential. It is essential that you demonstrate reliability, commitment and a strong work ethic with a 'get the job done attitude'. For the right person we offer stable long term employment, an attractive hourly rate with excellent earning capacity. The week consists of regular work rostered between Monday to Saturday.
