Are you a proactive, community-minded professional with a passion for public safety and local law enforcement? We are seeking a dedicated Ranger to join our dynamic Ranger Services team on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role

As a Ranger, you will play a vital role in delivering Ranger Services in line with statutory requirements, the City's strategic and corporate plans, and established policies and procedures. You will conduct regular patrols and inspections to enforce State and Council Laws, including parking, animal control, fire safety, and general local law compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor public areas for parking compliance, issue infringements, and manage abandoned vehicles under Local Laws.
  • Investigate complaints and enforce legislation through verbal/written warnings, infringement notices, and prosecution-standard documentation.
  • Promote community education and awareness through public engagement and information programs.
  • Perform animal control duties, including impounding, releasing, and investigating complaints under relevant legislation.
  • Assist with emergency management activities, including procedure development/testing and acting as a Bush Fire Officer.

You are a confident, community-focused professional with a strong understanding of local laws and a genuine commitment to public safety. You are adaptable, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Your ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and maintain professionalism in challenging situations will be key to your success.

Other requirements include:

  • Completion of Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills 1 and 2.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate.
  • Construction Induction "White Card".

What we offer

This permanent, full-time position offers a cash salary of $84,739 - $91,656 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
