Your new role
As Financial Controller, located in our Brisbane office, you will play a key role in providing accounts expertise to our national firm.

Working with the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, your variety of work will include:

  • Preparing monthly financial reports in line with board requirements
  • Overseeing payroll and ensuring compliance with ATO, Superannuation, and Payroll Tax regulations
  • Managing trust compliance and annual trust audits
  • Leading strategic planning, budgeting, and ad hoc reporting
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to the finance team, promoting SLF's values
  • Deliver accurate financial reports and cashflow forecasts
  • Maintain integrity of accounting systems and ensure reconciliations are up to date
  • Develop and manage operational and financial budgets with the CEO
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and legal requirements
  • Lead risk management and quality improvement initiatives

You Will Bring To The Role

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
  • 10+ years' experience in financial leadership, ideally within professional services or law
  • Understanding and experience with QLS Trust account rules and regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity, dependability, and results-oriented mindset
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to SLF's values and behaviours
