Unique Career Opportunity: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner – Renal Unit (Dialysis)

Bring your cultural knowledge and clinical skills to a role that makes a real difference in the health outcomes of Aboriginal people in the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network.

Based at Ceduna Hospital as part of the Multidisciplinary Renal Unit Team, you will provide culturally safe care and dialysis services to patients requiring Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT). This is a specialised position requiring completion of the Aboriginal Health Practitioner Renal Training Program (HLTRNL001 & HLTRNL002).

Your role will be vital in:

  • Embedding an Aboriginal lens in health care delivery.
  • Supporting Aboriginal patients and families with dialysis care.
  • Improving cultural safety, satisfaction, and the effectiveness of health care services.
  • Reducing barriers to care for communities at greater risk of kidney disease.

Aboriginal people are significantly overrepresented in dialysis services across SA, with rates of terminal kidney disease up to eight times higher than the general population. By joining our team, you'll directly support improved health outcomes and contribute to addressing this critical area of need.

If you are passionate about cultural safety, renal health, and supporting Aboriginal communities, we'd love to hear from you

What We're Looking For:

  • Certificate IV Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) or equivalent.
  • Hold a registration with ATSIHPBA/ AHPRA.
