**Location**:Safe Haven (Salisbury) and Sonder Edinburgh North

**Hours**:Part-Time (0.8FTE) Fixed Term until 29/11/2024

**Learn about the position**:
As the Aboriginal Wellbeing Peer Practitioner, you will utilise your own lived experience of mental health challenges and distress to provide culturally-safe support to people at risk of or experiencing mental health conditions who are accessing our services and their families/carers.

This position is part of a partnership between Sonder and Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). This role has a commitment to generating practice evidence and will be working in partnership with members of the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme (SAHMRI).

**Experience Requirements**:

- Experience in drawing on lived experience of mental health challenges, recovery and substance use to provide support to individuals and their families in accordance to Peer Support principles.
- Experience with delivering Peer Support services for people experiencing mental health challenges and or substance use
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in health and wellbeing settings
- Experience in maintaining continuous quality improvement.

**Qualification Requirements and other Requirements**:

- Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience in a lived experience or Peer Practitioner role is **desirable but not essential**:

- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
