The Opportunity 

We are seeking a Head Chef to join our leadership team and take Ondeen's culinary experience to the next level. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with our Culinary Director Kane Pollard, whose reputation for innovation and immersive dining has garnered national and international acclaim.

The Head Chef will bring creativity, operational excellence, and a passion for provenance to lead the kitchen team, design extraordinary guest experiences, and deepen our guests' understanding of the farm-to-table journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen brigade with vision, discipline, and creativity.

  • Collaborate closely with the Culinary Director to evolve and deliver Ondeen's immersive dining concepts.

  • Design and execute menus that highlight South Australian produce, sustainability, and seasonality.

  • Uphold and refine standards of quiet luxury across every guest experience.

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including rostering, COGS, ordering, and compliance.

  • Champion provenance and storytelling, sharing knowledge with guests and staff to connect them to the journey of food.

  • Develop, mentor, and train team members to deliver excellence and consistency.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider Ondeen team to deliver functions, events, and curated dining experiences.

About You

  • Proven experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.

  • Passion for provenance, sustainability, and immersive guest experiences.

  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and flair in menu development.

  • Operational excellence in cost management, compliance, and systems.

  • A collaborative approach and commitment to Ondeen's ethos of People, Place, Product, and Community.

  • Drive, ambition, and readiness to shape Ondeen's next chapter of culinary excellence.
