Melbourne City Centre, Victoria, Australia Victorian Government - Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing Full time $60,000 - $100,000 per year

THE ROLE

Working in the Child Safety Reforms team, this position will support transformational change, driving government's Child Safety reform agenda and shaping the future direction of the Social Services Regulator (SSR).

On 20 August 2025, the Victorian Government announced a Child Safety Overhaul, which included accepting all 22 recommendations of an independent Rapid Child Safety Review. As part of the overhaul, government announced changes to the Social Services Regulator which includes bringing the Working with Children Check (WWCC), the Reportable Conduct Scheme and Child Safe Standards under one roof.

The announcements complement earlier commitments from government to bring the Victorian Disability Worker Commission and Disability Services Commission under the SSR.

You will use your exceptional policy development, project support, stakeholder engagement and systems thinking skills to support the strategic implementation of operational policies, projects and regulatory strategies relative to the reforms.

This role will require you to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of a dynamic environment where engagement across the organisation and multiple regulatory schemes is critical.
