Purpose of the role

The Compliance Manager is a senior member of Youi's Compliance team, leading a team of analysts and supporting the Head of Compliance to ensure the business operates in line with all relevant Australian legislation, regulations, and industry codes. This role is key in maintaining and enhancing the Compliance Management Framework, delivering insightful data analytics and reporting to stakeholders, driving compliance oversight and contributing to the development and implementation of strategic compliance priorities to ensure Youi continues to manage compliance effectively and commercially.

Key priorities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the analysts, providing training and career support.
  • Implement and maintain Youi's Compliance Management Framework and policies.
  • Collaborate with business units and Legal to manage compliance obligations and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to executives, committees, and the Board.
  • Provide thought leadership on compliance risks and embed a strong compliance culture.
  • Monitor and manage compliance incidents, breaches, and assurance activities.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects across the business.
  • Lead by example and champion Youi's values across the team.

About you  - Experience & Knowledge:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Legal, Commerce, Risk, Finance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years' compliance experience in Financial Services, ideally general insurance.
  • Strong understanding of Australian legislation, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with risk management, data analytics, and translating complex information into actionable insights.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and able to manage relationships at all levels.
  • High integrity, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Ways of working

Youi offers a hybrid model: in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays.

Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley:

This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office. However, it requires presence at the HQ office at least twice a week.

Fortitude Valley:
