About the Role

The role serves as a technical expert within the Customer and Digital Services Section, responsible for driving community-focused co-design of services and fostering integration across Council. It oversees the strategic and operational delivery of the digital working environment including the end user environment, audio visual systems, CCTV and support for the Engineers in troubleshooting and resolving network issues. The role will guide a team through complex troubleshooting while ensuring consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness. By coordinating end-user operations and managing technology lifecycles, from supporting selection to security and maintenance, the role underpins Council's digital infrastructure. It bridges delivery and operations, supports seamless project transitions, and enhances team capability. Drawing on extensive ICT knowledge, it leads operational projects like CCTV and office fit-outs, while ensuring strong contract and vendor performance. Through data analytics, stakeholder engagement, and industry trend interpretation, the role informs strategic direction, balances resource demands, and drives optimal outcomes across business and project initiatives. It further ensures rigorous asset management, fosters continuous improvement, and promotes a customer-centric ethos, contributing expert insights to leadership and keeping Council aligned with evolving technological and legislative landscapes.

About You

The ideal candidate is an Information Technology professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in complex operational environments. They bring strong academic credentials or equivalent experience, complemented by certifications in ITIL, ITSM, VMWare, CISCO, and CCTV. This leader excels in guiding high-performing technical teams through multi-tiered IT support, expertly balancing operational demands, strategic direction, and delivery transitions. With a keen ability to adapt to emerging technologies, they serve as a subject matter expert in both BAU and project resource management, underpinned by exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and customer service capabilities. Their analytical mindset fuels policy development and strategic planning through interpretation of complex metrics, while their advanced managerial acumen ensures excellence across service levels, and financial performance. Visionary and innovative, they anticipate future technological needs and consistently deliver agile, creative solutions in dynamic environments.
