Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Tax Accountant at Trekk Advisory – (open to hybrid role if located in Rockhampton). The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for tax compliance, tax preparation, financial statements, accounting, and other tax-related tasks.

As Trekk's Accountant, you'll use your financial expertise for SME compliance, manage a diverse client portfolio, work to develop our less senior accountants and use tools like Xero, FYI, BGL 360 & Now Infinity. Ideal candidates will be excited to mentor our team and our clients, have a CA/CPA qualification or working towards one, three years of accounting experience, excellent communication skills, and Permanent Residency status. This is an onshore position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial records and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Supporting with preparation and lodgement of indirect tax obligations like GST, PAYG, FBT and Payroll tax
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members as part of their career development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
